Anyone who remembers the old NFL highlight shows will fondly remember the music of Sam Spence. For most football fans, the music is etched into our memories. We didn't know the names of the songs but we sure recognized them as soon as we heard them. The NFL made the fan albums available in the 70's. If you were persistant, you could get the library albums as well. But there was not a wide commercial release until 1998's "The Power And The Glory" followed by the 10 CD set "Autumn Thunder" in 2004. Today, Sam's music is ubiquitous. It's been heard on shows like The Simpsons, Everybody Loves Raymond, King Of Queens, Saturday Night Live, The FBIs Most Wanted, Teachers Pet, The Tonight Show, Access Hollywood, Sponge Bob and several TV and radio commercials. Recently, Sam is as busy as ever. In 2007, he recorded two fight songs for the Houston Texans and released a greatest hits cd called "Sam Spence: Our Man In Munich". His music is now available on Itunes and other music services. In the last few years, he's conducted highly successful NFL concerts in Houston and Green Bay. He is still writing for full symphony orchestra to this very day.
